Ostrom Road Landfill provides loading, hauling, and disposal services to the County of Nevada at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station. Norcal Waste Systems Ostrom Road Landfill, Inc., located in Wheatland, California, currently provides solid waste disposal services to both municipal and commercial customers in the northern Sacramento Valley including Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Nevada, and Colusa Counties. Ostrom Road Landfill began operation in 1995 as the first landfill facility in California to receive approval to operate under the new Subtitle D regulations requiring liner systems, leachate collection and recovery systems, water quality monitoring systems, and other environmental protection measures.

The site comprises 261 acres, 225 of which are permitted as a Class II Landfill.

The facility is permitted to accept the following types of waste:

*Non-Friable asbestos is asbestos material that cannot be easily crumbled or reduced to powder.

Special Waste Requirements
Special wastes, including waste water treatment sludge, contaminated soils or other designated wastes, are subject to analytical review and must be classified non-hazardous under the state's hazardous waste criteria.

The landfill is open to commercial waste haulers and can accept up to 3,000 tons of municipal solid waste per day. The site has an expected closure date of 2066 with a total design capacity of over 41 million cubic yards.

Norcal Waste Systems Ostrom Road Landfill, Inc. also provides loading, hauling, and disposal services to the County of Nevada at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station near Grass Valley, California. The landfill currently processes, transfers, and disposes of 60,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year for the County of Nevada.
